This Site is much better than other sites about wishbone ash because I think its more like the old style of the band and I like their old music much better than their new songs.

Here is a reprint of the great review of the new Blue Law Double Live CD Set from the Let It Rock website. It appears right next to a review of Led Zeppelin's new "How The West Was Won", not too shabby! The reviewer has some great things to say about Andy and the band. "Law and order of red-hot rhythm-and-blues caught in the red." "That's quite telling: if WISHBONE ASH mastermind Andy Powell joins some American band instead of having a side project of his own, the combo must be good. And BLUE LAW are good, indeed - here's the evidence. Recorded in England in 1996, this 100-minute performance shows a firm bond between the group and the audience asking for a favorite tune. Buddy Holly's "Peggy Sue" might be the strangest of those, but it gives a break from the relentless heat of brass-adorned incendiary R'n'B the seven-piece serve. Even the sometimes problematic sound - coming from a bootleg recording and cleaned up - doesn't diminish the music appeal which stretched to several songs licensed for MTV's "The Real World" programme. Wrapped in two saxes foil, Powell's funky licks and Jonathan Moorehead's soulful warbling easily fall into the Stax-patented groove, be it swaggering "Expressway To Your Heart" or sprawling "Bicycle Man". The band gracefully strut their stuff sending "Teeny Weenie Bit" boogie up soaring, and walking on hot coals of "Hey Miss Bessie" with Mike Mindell's piano and Andy's soloing that's as far from ASH's twin-guitar canon as can be - if you don't count 1973's "No Easy Road" which would make a great "45 with LAW's "I'm Too Tired". Live feel, much more intense with ordering the drinks, breaking a bottle and jokes, is well-preserved here, suggesting that was THE night out. Wish(bone) we were there." You can see it for yourself at: http://dmme.net/reviews/reviews27.html#
I DON REACH HERE OOOOOOO BIKO GREAT SITE.
Hey, Wishbone fans! Greetings from Jonathan Moorehead. I sang in Blue Law, Andy Powell's American Blues band. Early this year it came to our attention that a bootleg of Blue Law's 1996 European Tour was circulating among collectors, blues enthusiasts, and Wishbone Ash fans. We decided to make this recording available to all Wishbone fans, so that they could enjoy the houserocking blues side of Andy Powell's considerable talent as a live guitarslinger. We got a copy and employed today's state-of-the-art digital re-mastering technology to squeese out every drop of fidelity we could muster. We've made this DOUBLE CD available at our cost for studio time and packaging. THIS IS NOT SPAM! We will probably not get our investment back, the price reflects what it cost us to make it. Our goal is not to make a profit, but to get the recording out there. It was an amazing show! Andy was in rare form, and the audience demanded so many encores that we ran out of material. It is a record of a great night, featuring some blistering guitarwork by Andy Powell. The Double CD set is completely re-mastered and repackaged, with some rare photos, and seldom-heard tunes. Andy and the other members of Blue Law are aware of the project and have given their blessing. If you'd like a copy of this rare gem, folks can email me at MOJOSMOKE@aol.com for more info, or send a check or money order to; Jonathan Moorehead Mucho Mojo Music 21 Harrison Street Croton-On-Hudson, New York 10520 USA $13.00 USA, plus $5.00 shipping and handling = $18.00 Or, L8.20 British pounds plus L3.20 shipping&handling= L11.40 British pounds I doubt I'll get my investment back, but I'm excited about getting the performance into the hands of folks that might appreciate it. Thanks! jon
Nowadays when I say I am a Wishbone Ash fan people just look at me blankly. Rockband, I explain. From '69. Peaked in '72. Introduced twin guitar sound. More blank looks. So it's alonely business. But there are plenty of new releases to keep me happy. Hi everybody out there!

I saw Wishbone at Grona Lund in Stockholm a long time ago. They played at a Concert With Mahavishnu Orchestra. During the same period I come over Wishbone's first album and my interest for the music started. Today and when I listen to the music I wonder if I am nostalgic and like the music just cause I experinced it when I was young or if the music really are special. But I think Wishbone explained it to me. Real guitars have wings.//Magnus Thärn Stockholm

Andy is my uncle and I would just like to know more about him
I first saw Wishbone in concert at Liverpool Stadium in 1973 and then at Liverpool Empire in 1974. They still remain my favourite two concerts ever closely followed by the Doobie Brothers in Birmingham in 1996.
My experience with WA goes back to the 70's. Missed out on my only chance to see them when they canceled the show I had tickets for in Boston in 1974 or 1975. My ex-wife turned me on to them. Just recently getting back into them though by that I mean the old stuff from the 70's (Wishbone Ash, Argus, Wishbone Four & Live Dates). I've never listened to whatever the latest incarnations of the band have been doing. If there is anyone who is kind enough to share with a Wishbone newbie, please contact me. I have losts of stuff by other people though most is analog. Limited amount of cdr's.
hey. i am 13, and i love wishbone ash!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!this site kicks @$$!!!!!!!
I first saw Wishbone Ash in 72/73 but unfortunately Ted Turner had departed and in came Laurie Wisefield who appeared on the "four" album. He was of course a good replacement but the twin lead of Turner and Powell was something else and i will never forget them.I have a substantial record collection and often play them.
been a fan forever.

Best Bones an alle Ash Fans.

Grew up in Teignmouth, seven miles up the coast from Torquay in the early seventies. Wishbone ash alcohol and women seemed to fit so perfectly to such a beautiful youth in a beautiful area. First saw a concert at Torquay town hall and have been hooked ever since. Music and memories still very fresh. To a mis-spent youth under the stars, with Rock and Roll Widow screaming at full volume on the battery operated tape player on Spray Point. The beautiful memories that accompany Everybody needs a Friend are too good to mention. Long Live The Ash.
I'm a bonehead from Mississippi,USA A guitarist myself, I have enjoyed Wishbone Ash's twin guitars for thirty years. You have a great page. thanks

Hi there - I see that some of you are wondering what Laurie Wisefield is up to these days, well, he has just finished a tour with the Night Of The Proms in Belgium/Holland/Germany and Switzerland and it is pretty definite that he will be touring with Jim Kerr next year. He also sometimes plays with the SAS Band in England. If anyone wants more info, please feel free to write to me! I also run a Laurie Wisefield mailing list and have actually been told by Laurie himself that I should try to get some more members, as there are only four of us and I am the only real Laurie-fan! So I thought it was about time I started spreading the word about the list! ;) If you want to join, just send a blank e-mail to lauriewisefield-subscribe@egroups.com or else go to www.egroups.com, do a search for Laurie and the list and all the details on how to join should show up. Hope to see some of you there - you're all welcome! :) Cheers, Anja P.S.: Otis Robb (kooldrude@funkin1), I tried to e-mail you privately but your e-mail-address seems to be wrong or incomplete... Mail me if you want more info on Laurie!
Hi, i heard WA way back in the mid 80s as a 17 yr old in Bombay, India. And then 15 years later, LAST week in CHICAGO ! What a concert !! since then i've been listeng to wishbione ash radio all the time ( see wishboneash.com ). Its like meeting an old friend. Mellow yet powerful, the music moves the soul. Peace everyone !
Laurie Wisefield played also with Home. They had a great album called The Alchemist. Their singer was Mick Stubbs. Does anyone know anything about him or where he has gone?

Euer Manne

Been so long I almost forgot them. Thanks
I have been listening to Wishbone Ash since Argus day, seen them many times including at the Rainbow, Ally Pally, Reading festival and more recently at Blues W14. Favourite line up Powell, Wisefield, Martin Turner, Steve Upton favourite track "The King will Come"
Saw Ash at the Cavern Club, Liverpool in April, 2000. Absolutely brilliant! Last saw them in Liverpool in 1975, with the original lineup. Met Andy and Bob after the Cavern gig - both very friendly and approachable. Very good alternative site, keep up the good work!
Been a fan for years (since about Pilgrimage), saw Ash most years in the mid 70's and early 80's. Found your website very interesting. If you can tell me where I might get a copy of some of the mid-70's CD material (There's the rub/New England/FPN especially), I would be very grateful. Most of the non-album material I have is on tape from BBC "in concerts" and I could do with preserving it.
I,ve saw them playing at the Paradiso in Amsterdam in 1985 and they were fantastic. I had enjoy at best! And then I have their albums and CD's in my collection. But I still looking for LIVE DATES II on CD.
Saw you all at The Wedgewood Rooms in April as usual an excellent show. How about a gig at The Brook this year?
will wishbone ash play in the states soon? we were really looking forward to seeing them again. we thought it might be cleveland? we were at the chicago show last year. were you there? please write back

http://www.angelfire.com/de/craigboardmansboots/ HELLO FROM BARNSLEY ENGLAND Einstein claimed that there was in every intellectual something of a fool, CLICK ON CRAIGBOARDMANSBOOTS FOR the World Wide Web site for the premiere Unibond legend, Craig Boardman. Boardman's been playing around in some form or another now for close to 10 years or so (depends when you start counting, I guess). This is not a site dedicated to a static dead player of the past. Craig Boardmans career still lives on, and his soccer career is still alive in the late 90's. This is not a footballer who has suddenly given in from the injuries that have plagued his career like a lot of player s are doing these days. Craig Boardman has been playing ever since joining Nottingham Forest in the late 80's . If you're a fan of quality soccer , Et facti sumus tanquam immudus nos....et cecidimus quasi folium universi!

Noten. Does anybody know about any Wishbone Ash bass tabs or notes. Please mail me Thanks !!! Viel Spaß bei der Ash-Tour im Dezember :-)
Kind regards to all Ash-holes! With all you visitors in my mind
Wishbone Ash kicks ash! Looking forward to ASHCON 2000. Thanks for making this web site available. You've got an incredible collection. Can't believe you've got the burlap bag Argus Dates. We're still looking for that one!

Just surfing from california. Saw WA back in the mid 70's at Winterland in San Francisco. One of the best hours of live music I ever heard. Great site.Best to you.
Hi, I'm Andy Powells cousin from the UK. I know it's a bit sad grabbing my 15 minutes of fame by having a famous relative, but what the hell he's still one of the greatest rock guitarists of all time. I think it's brilliant that you're taking the time to produce such an excellent page. Keep up the good work, and we should all try our best to influence all them poor little minds out there to the wonders of twin lead rock n roll.
Good site I will revisit when I get more time
I am looking for lyrics of "Errors of My Way". Does anybody know of a site that has them? Thanks!
As with so many others, I wish more of WA's material was available on CD or video. I saw WA in the mid 70's. They were the opening act for Foghat. Throughout Foghat's set all I could think was bring back the opening act. To this day I have not heard anything comparable to this great band. If one has not seen them live one has not really heard them. None of their recordings do this power band's sound true justice.

Hello, your web is really great ! Being a big wishbone ash fan, i feel really frustrated not being able to buy some of the stuff you mention, especially the live recordings (supposing the sound quality is acceptable, which was not always the case with the last "rare" Ash recordings I bought, especially in the "archive" series). Is there any possibility that you duplicate some K7s for real fans like me ? (I guess everybody who visited your site could claim the same !) By the way, I'm french and my german is too presently too bad (but I'm working at it !) to leave you a message "auf deutsch". But I'll try to do it for my next visit. Congratulation for your amazing site and see you next time. J.M.

Hi Otis, I tried to get in touch. please give me your correct email-adress! thanks! Joachim
Interesting! Ive been a fan of the Ash for over 20 years now. The first time I seen them live was with New England at the Century Theatre in Audobon NJ on July 1981(Wishbone missed the US for five years in a row-various reasons The line up with Trevor Bolder, Laurie Steve Upton and Andy Powell. The Next time was in Norfolk Va. 3/21/86. I was ASTONISHED TO SEE Laurie out of Wishbone. I nearly had a heart attack. Who was this new cat? He seemed a little unsure of the material. Living Proof was screwed up by Andy and threw Jamie C. way off kilter for the solo. The next show was their last one for the 1986 tour. Again the band was late-coming in from Jacksonville Fla.- a 7 hour bus ride. I talked to Steve a bit about Jamie and asked how the tour was going with Foghat(The Kneetremblers). The Charlotte Nc was 5/10/86. Oh by the way, its nice to see MY LIVE TAPES on your list probably copied about 20 times over with lots of loss generation of sound. You are welcomed to contact me for the originals. The next time was in Phila in 1988 with the original lineup with MartinTurner. Disappointing show only 50 minutes long and about 50 people in the audience. I taped that one but got rid of it-sorry!!!!! We talked with the entire band. Ted was really cool! The last time we saw Wishbone was in 1992 in Little Rock Ark with Ray,Andy Pyle Ted and Andy Powell. I got to interview them for a magazine I was writing for back then. By the way Andy Pyle hated being with the KINKS. Ray and Dave Davies were constantly fighting and Andy couldnt wait to be off the Kinks tour! Yes I got alive tape of the 1992 show from Little Rock. By the way What the heck is going on with LAURIE WISEFIELD! That guys rocks solid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He's definetly one of my fav guitarists. Listen I'll censored up and let you reply. Peace
Deine Seite gefällt mir recht gut! Viele Informationen! Herzlichst, Reinhard
